PETITION TO THANK SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON
For her support of child and maternal health
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
US Department of State
2201 C St. NW
Washington, DC 20520
Dear Secretary Clinton,
We, the undersigned of this petition, publicly thank you for your passionate support of the 1,000 Days Partnership, which focuses attention and efforts on nutritional needs from the time of a woman’s pregnancy until her child turns 2 years old.
We appreciate your bold direction within the administration to highlight the devastating effects of malnutrition in children during the 1,000 day critical window, if left unaddressed, can prevent them from ever reaching their full potential. We applaud the ways in which you have spoken on how individuals, communities and entire nations can prosper when mothers and children have enough of the right foods to eat and ask that you will continue to champion this work for women and children beyond your tenure at the State Department.
Secretary Clinton, we thank you for your resonating voice, your motherly wisdom, and your commitment to all God’s children.
You can sign the online petition here.

Representatives from Church Women United and Bread
for the World deliver to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s office 5000 signatures – thanking the Secretary for her work on the 1,000 Days Program.
For the past few months, you all have done a tremendous job of collecting signatures, in your unit meetings and online, to send to Secretary Clinton for her continued passion for maternal and child health.
Blanche Smith, Chair to the Action/Global Concerns Committee, Rev. Nancy Neal, Bread for the World and Robin Fillmore, CWU Advocacy Coordinator met with Jonathan Schrier, special representative for global food security in the State Department. Given the busy schedule of Secretary Clinton, the group had warning that they would not be able to meet with her directly but were assured that the petitions would be delivered to Secretary Clinton personally.
