For some time the Church Women United National Board has wanted to update our manuals and operational literature. Here is one way in which it will be tackled: a blog. Since blogs are web logs (online diaries or journals that share thoughts and ideas) – what an interesting way for me to write to you about the nuts and bolts of Church Women United!
I have been thinking about this, several times a week I am asked questions about CWU and so many of them are not particular to any one unit. I’m sure many units have similar issues. How great it is that answers ans suggestions can be made available in an easily accessed format.
Each post will take on an idea or question that, hopefully, will address matters in your local or state unit. Posts will provide descriptions of officer roles, installation ceremonies, sample bylaws, budget sheets, publicity,or new ideas for your celebrations. I will also talk about CWUs national movement structure, our priorities, and share new initiatives. There is an endless list of possibilities. Your ideas and questions will keep us going.

Great job! I can imagine such great possibilities.
We posted some information on our Church Women United of Nebraska Facebook page we now have 11 people who like us. We have plenty of room to grow.
I posted about receiving results from Young CWU forum #5. We had some interest in seeing the results. I sent an email to Marilyn with the name. I just don’t know if I should post an email address on a public sight.
Try sending Marilynn a message on Facebook. If she doesn’t get back to you let me know.
This is great! I need the post on the sample by laws for the local unit.
I’m editor of Grand Rapids MI newsletter; need to know the themes for the 3 Celebrations; publishing this week if possible. Only last years titles are on website. Met Djamillah last April at MI State Assembly; reat to put a human face and personallity to a name.
I’d like to see a subset of blogs for each region. We could then post our regional events and upcoming meetings in a more localized format. So HDQ/National on level one and the regions on level two. If we really get fancy we could list units within a state, within a region–all under national. We’d only have to create this structure once rather than each of us trying to start our own blogs. Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part. (smile)
